Teacher Career Establishment Grant Eligibility
This grant is open to all eligible classroom teachers. Applicants are not required to have loans owned or serviced by Iowa Student Loan or to have graduated from an Iowa college or university.
Applicant Eligibility
Applicants are eligible for the grant if they meet all* the following requirements:
- Graduated or will graduate during the 2011 – 2012 academic year.
- Are certified in a state-designated shortage area in Iowa.
- Are contracted to begin their first classroom teaching job in a state-designated shortage area in Iowa after July 1, 2012.
- Haven't taught in any other state prior to teaching in Iowa.
- Are not individuals approved for an Iowa Student Loan Teacher Education Loan Forgiveness Award between 2006 and 2010.
- Are not employees — or dependents or spouses of employees — of Iowa Student Loan.
