Current Iowa Teacher Subject Shortage Areas
To meet the subject-area qualification, teachers must meet both criteria:
- The specific grade level endorsement
- Teaching assignment in the subject-shortage area grade levels
Criteria examples:

| A teacher with a K – 8 math endorsement, teaching only sixth-grade math in a middle school setting, |
