Billing Options: Electronic Reminder
The electronic bill reminder service allows you to receive electronic payment reminders via e-mail. If you opt for electronic reminders, you will no longer receive paper payment reminders through the U.S. Postal Service, reducing paper use and your risk of identity theft.
How It Works
On the Bill Preferences page, you have two options:
- Yes, set all my existing loans to electronic notification.
If you select the "yes" option, all existing Iowa Student Loan payment reminders will be sent to you via e-mail. After the first e-mail reminder, you will no longer receive paper statements.
- No, I want to specify my bill preferences for each loan.
If you select the "no" option, you can then choose either paper statements or electronic reminders for each of your Iowa Student Loan accounts. A list of your accounts will appear; simply select either e-mail or paper for each.
Sign Up for Electronic Reminders
Use the following steps to set up your bill preference to electronic reminders.

Tips
Here are some things to know before you sign up:
- First Loan Payment Reminder. Your first payment reminder for each Iowa Student Loan account will be sent to you through the U.S. Postal Service for verification purposes. You will not receive an electronic reminder. Your subsequent reminders will be sent via e-mail only.
- Final Loan Payment. You will receive an electronic reminder via e-mail and a paper reminder through the U.S. Postal Service for your final payment.
- Overdue Payments. If a payment is 30 days overdue, you will begin receiving paper payment reminders through the U.S. Postal Service only. Electronic notices will no longer be sent to your e-mail address.
- Duplicate Notice Requests. If you need another billing reminder, please contact Iowa Student Loan. A duplicate statement will be sent to you by U.S. mail.
